What's going on, everyone? My name is Brandon Holley, and I am the owner broker of Holley Homes Realty here in Austin, Texas, and most of my buyers are finding it is not easy to find a home within the Austin city limits, so they have to look outward. So today, as your new home specialist, I am bringing you a new community in Bastrop, Texas, that has just about everything that I, as a buyer, would want to see in a community. So if you like these videos, please hit like, subscribe, and follow along as I reveal new communities each week. Today we're in Bastrop, Texas, checking out a community called the colony, so take a look. The colony is located in Bastrop, Texas, only 30 miles east of Austin and a quick 30-minute drive to the airport. Nine builders within the community offer homes starting in the low 300s. Some of the builders include Scott Felder, David Weekley, and Gehan Homes.

The first phase of the colony began back in the early 2000s, with new phases continuing to be developed when finished. There will be seven phases of single single-family residential, multi-family, and commercial spaces. Homes are built on a range of 50-foot to 80-foot lots. There will also be a few 0.6-acre lots. Bastrop was recognized as one of Texas's best places to live in 2019. Companies such as Tesla and Bastrop's 552 projects bring economic growth to the region. This development will be massive. Here are the conceptual plans for the community when completed.

That was the Scott Felder model home. There are a handful of other model homes that you can tour, but before you do, make sure to reach out to a real estate agent. The builder pays the commission, so that means it's not going to cost you anything, and it's going to be beneficial to you to have an agent in your corner advocating for you especially considering there are so many things changing in the real estate world with interest rates, design times, build times, etc. It's good to have somebody in your corner, so as I said, there are nine builders in this community. You're sure going to be able to find a floor plan that you like but let's go ahead and check into what the amenities have to offer. There are some cool pools uh parks. There's also an extensive trail system and even an event coordinator that will coordinate events obviously for the community so you can get to know your neighbors. So if that's something you're into, let's take a look. The colony has miles of trails with plenty of places to relax and take in nature. The community was developed with the natural landscape in mind, and multiple ponds and acres of green space were left untouched. Pools, parks, and playscapes are already completed. New amenities will be developed as the community grows, and the community will continue to grow.

The main clubhouse has a sauna, junior Olympic pool, soccer fields, and basketball and tennis courts. As you saw earlier, this community is massive, and depending on where you live will determine which Bastrop ISD school you attend. Different places in the community will be other elementary, middle, and high schools, so let's look. If you live on the original site of the colony, you'll go to bluebonnet elementary, cedar creek middle school, and cedar creek high school. You live on the new portion of The Colony, which is the colony riverside. You will go to mina elementary, Bastrop middle school, and Bastrop high school. There are also plans for an elementary school to be developed within the community. If you need more information to see exactly which schools your kids will go to, please reach out to a real estate agent or let me know. I'm happy to get that information for you, but from here, you can see the distances from the colony to each school.

The community is growing like crazy, especially with huge companies like Tesla coming in, and then you have the Bastrop 552 project, which is bringing some cool studios to the area to film in. That's all future growth and plans for the future. We can't commit and say 100 percent this place will explode. Still, I would imagine that within the next few years, we're going to see growth as we did out in Leander and Liberty Hill, but as of now, let's take a look at what's around. As you can see here, there are a few clinics and hospitals. I did not add it to the map. There is also a seton and an Austin regional clinic.

There is also an herb plus and a Walmart supercenter, not to mention the Buccees, which is a staple for any road trip. There are also plenty of things to keep you busy outside of your house multiple golf courses, a state park historic downtown, and lake Bastrop Bastrop is in its early phases of growth right now, and there are not too many communities nearby. However, I would imagine that will change if Bastrop is not right for you. Please check out the link to my new community guide of other communities selling in central Texas.
